Nationwide:
ZIM – The Central Innovation Program for SMEs
Through the ZIM, companies can have so-called R&D individual and cooperative projects funded. This makes it possible to receive funding for salary, material and service provider costs when implementing risky research and innovation projects. The funding is lengthy and extremely complex, but can cover 6-figure sums.

North Rhine Westphalia:
With the innovation voucher, projects can secure funding amounts of between €10,000 and €25,000 with a simple application and a quick process. This funding is particularly suitable for innovative flagship projects, for example the automation and optimization of company processes through artificial intelligence and data science. But the development of ideas and products from proof of concept to MVP level can also be tackled with this funding with greatly reduced risk.

Lower Saxony:
Low-threshold innovation support program for SMEs and crafts (nIFP)
Promotes the use of low-threshold innovation projects whose eligible expenditure does not exceed €200,000. The funding is exclusively for KNUs and involves medium effort and bureaucracy.
